Lebanon: Protection Capacity Building Coordinator

We are looking for a highly qualified candidate that has the skills to engage in our organization as Protection Capacity Building Coordinator

Who are we?

DRC has been operating in the Middle East and North Africa for over a decade, running a combination of livelihood, protection, advocacy and relief projects. DRC has six project offices throughout Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Tunisia/Libya, Turkey, and both a country and regional office in Jordan.

DRC Lebanon has been assisting the Syrian displaced, fleeing Syria into northern Lebanon, since May 2011. This assistance has come through the provision of food and non-food items, various outreach activities (registration, follow-up and awareness sessions) rehabilitation of collective shelters and the implementation of quick impact projects.

About the job

To support the development of protection tools to ensure the delivery of high quality protection programming (including CP, GBV and Protection Monitoring) in a timely manner.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop and roll-out project management tools including benchmarks and a supervisory framework and toolkit for all DRC’s protection programmes (PSS activities for women, men, girls and boys, community based committees, protection monitoring)

• Review DRCs community based approach tools, make amendments where needed, including the development of benchmarks for handover of PSS and case management activities to partners, and provide training and on the job coaching to that end

• Develop and roll out child marriage sessions for children and care-givers

• Review DRCs protection partner training package and amend where necessary to ensure it is a comprehensive document with a module format

• Support the implementation of DRCs protection partner training via on the job-coaching to DRC staff

• Develop and roll-out a framework for skills building in mobile safe spaces.

• Support the Protection Coordinator in developing other tools and guidance documents as needed.

About you

To be successful in this role you must have: Bachelors Degree in Social Science, Humanities, Social Work, Community Development or Psychology

Moreover we also expect the following:

Required qualifications

• 5 years managing protection related projects;

• Development of protection related training tools

• Delivery of protection trainings and on the job coaching

Desirable qualifications

Ideally, you will also have Master of International Development/Social Work/Psychology/Project Management

We offer

DRC will offer the successful applicant a contract until 31st of December 2016, renewable dependent on both funding and performance. You must be available to start work from September 2016 and be willing and able to work in Bekaa.

Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for Expatriates; please refer to www.drc.ngo under Vacancies. This position will be placed at level A13.
