  1. Maintaining regular contact with the local and international media representatives to promote better understanding and coverage of the Agency’s work, and to encourage the media to use UNRWA as a source of information on registered Palestine refugees;

  2. Advising the Field Office Director through Public Information Officer (PIO) and the Headquarters Public Information Office on local public relations and matters of interest to the Agency;

  3. Providing ideas for coverage of Field activities and researching material and drafting text in Arabic and English for Headquarters public information materials, including for the Agency web site and Agency-wide publications;

  4. Monitoring daily press and preparing daily/weekly press summaries and monthly reports;

  5. Translating documents from Arabic to English and vice versa, as required;

  6. Briefing and escorting visitors and journalists to the Field and interpreting when required;

  7. Acting for PIO (in his/her absence;

  8. Performing other duties as may be assigned.
