Action Against Hunger is an international non-governmental, private, apolitical, non-religious and non-profit organization created in 1979. Its goal is to combat hunger and dangerous situations that threaten men, women and children. Currently 500 expatriates and more than 5,000 local employees are working for Action Against Hunger in more than 46 countries working in projects concerning four areas of focus: nutrition, health, food security and water and sanitation. General Objective

Monitoring and overseeing the implementation of all Food Security and Livelihood (FSL) projects at a base level, supporting the reporting of the projects and the identification and drafting of new FSL proposals, analyzing the FSL humanitarian context in the area and supporting Action Against Hunger response strategy. The FSL Program Manager is also in charge of organizing, following up and capacitating the project teams, ensuring that activities are done according to the contractual agreements and the quality standards of Action Against Hunger.

Key activities

  • To ensure timely and quality implementation of FSL projects at a base level.
  • To promote the comprehension and support the implementation of food security and Livelihoods strategy in the intervention area.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in humanitarian action or any related field, with special focus on Programme Cycle Management.
  • 3 year experience working in programme management position in humanitarian and development organizations, previous experience with Food Security and Livelihoods is a plus.
  • Agriculture, value chains, market analysis, cash based interventions, food security and livelihoods.
  • Good understanding of the country context, good context analysis skills.
  • Humanitarian sector knowledge.
  • Previous experience with Action Against Hunger : an asset
  • Required Competences : Organization & Planning, Working toward Objectives, Effective Communication, Resistance to Stress, Inspirational Leadership, Analytical Capacity
  • Languages: English mandatory, Arabic an asset.
  • Gender approach : an asset
  • Good skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and good skills in smart phones

Salary & Benefits

We offer you to join a dynamic international network with the following remuneration package:

  • Salary: from 1375€ to 1750€ gross per month according to candidate’s previous experience (according to standard list of Action Against Hunger - Spain). Action Against Hunger - Spain remuneration system allows a salary progression based on the annual development appraisal.

  • Up to 20% additional remuneration depending on the position’s context and responsibilities (according the grading scale set by Action Against Hunger)
  • House and maintenance covered by the organization (including per diem): package estimated according to the destination.
  • Travel costs to and from the mission.
  • 25 working days of paid leave per year.
  • Break: additional rest period, including travel cost to a reference area and economic help of 215€.
  • Health, repatriation, travel and life insurance covered by the organization.
  • Extra per month and per child (Under 18 years old): from 100€ to 225€ monthly (according to standard list of Action Against Hunger - Spain).
