NRC in the Middle East is responding to the Syria crisis, assisting refugees in Jordan, Lebanon and Iraq as well as people displaced inside Syria. We work in shelter, emergency distributions, education, water and sanitation and legal assistance. Our response on the ground has grown rapidly with the dramatic rise in displacement and we now have around 1,200 staff members working on the regional response to the Syria crisis.

NRC is looking to recruit an experienced Information, Communication and Legal Assistance (Legal Aid) Programme Manager in Lebanon.

Our ideal candidate has:
A strong legal and protection background with a minimum of 3 years' experience in a senior level legal assistance project implementation position in a humanitarian/ recovery context. Project cycle management experience and competent drafting skills (English). Knowledge of the displacement context in the Middle East and some Arabic.

In this position you will join highly motivated and expert staff who are making a difference to the most vulnerable people in the world's biggest displacement crisis.
Job Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development of strategies for the area and ICLA projects In the North
  • Responsible for implementing ICLA projects in the North and ensure high technical quality consistent with ICLA Lebanon strategies and synergies with other core competencies
  • Support preparation of proposals (technical, financial and narrative aspects) related to ICLA projects in the North
  • Develop, manage and monitor the budget(s) according to Financial Handbook and donor requirements
  • Evaluation, review and quality control of ongoing and completed ICLA projects in the North
  • Contribute to identification of trends in conditions/standards and donor priorities and assess better ways to assist refugees
  • Training and development of ICLA staff
  • Ensure adherence to the ICLA tools and handbooks and other NRC policies
  • Represent ICLA in internal and external fora in the North, develop partnerships in the humanitarian community in the North and coordinate with authorities at local level.

We offer up to a 12 month contract
