ACF is looking for a WASH Program Manager
Country:Myanmar, based in the Rakhine State (Maungdaw)
Length of contract: 12 months, starting from the 1st of October
The position: Under the responsibility of the deputy field coordinator, you will be in charge of to identify and implement high quality Wash activities related to nutrition activities which are appropriate and comprehensive, in conformity with overarching strategy and the standards set internationally, by ACF and by national policies. More precisely, your main activities will be to:
o Manage the wash team in order to implement activities
o Ensure wash capacity building of teams (both wash team and other sector teams)
o Monitor wash indicators and address transversal wash issues (mostly linked with malnutrition)
o Identify needs and contribute to project elaboration, contribute to strategy and the positioning of the wash department
o Contribute to the quality, accountability and impact measurement process of the program
o Participate in the coordination, representation and partnership of ACF in the area of intervention
Work context : Maungdaw/Buthidaung Field Office counts nearly 500 staff. ACF carries on Nutrition/MHCP programmes (the bulk activity of the office); a multi sectorial (WASH, IGAs, FSL) programme nutrition security focused, and a Community Mobilization component including all sector of intervention. Living conditions are acceptable, although Northern Rakhine State does not enjoy a stable internet and telephone connection (to the rest of the Country and abroad) especially during rainy season that stretches from June to November. Security is stable at the moment but ethnical and religious tensions make the situation fluid and unpredictable in the medium term.
Manager’s word: ACF intervention are really relevant in the region and needs are huge. The challenge remains: having creativity in terms of how to address WASH issues in this context
The applicant: You hold a university degree in Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH).
You have a significant experience in WASH activities, and at least 2 years in a managerial role, you have some significant experiences in hardware and software in the project. Experience in behaviour change will be an asset. You have developed excellent diplomatic communication, organizational skills, autonomous and team management.
You are also able to manage stress in a complicated environment.
Fluent in English is required.
Status: Salaried -Gross monthly salary ranging from €1600 to €1975
Food and hygiene expenses, per diem, transportation costs, collective accommodation and medical insurance
25 days of annual paid leaves and 20 days of rest and recuperation (R&R) per year
