Background

UNICEF Lebanon Country Office is seeking an Annual Report and Survey Consultant experienced with editing, consolidating and generating high quality written reports for UNICEF and/or other UN agencies.

Purpose of the Assignment

To review, edit and support the submission of the UNICEF Lebanon 2016 Country Office Annual Report (COAR); to revise the Situation Analysis and Baseline Household Survey based on the comments of the Government of Lebanon; to produce the report of Joint Monitoring Programme (Water Quality Survey).

Assignment Tasks

The 2017 Annual Reports and Situation Analysis Consultant will:

  • Review, edit and consolidate the COAR to ensure a high-quality report which articulates clearly a narrative for UNICEF Programme for Children in Lebanon during 2017.
  • Revise Situation Analysis and insert references, comments and finalize the UNICEF SitAn
  • Expected Deliverables

    The consultant will be required to submit the following deliverables according to the below schedule and timeline and within a period of 60 working days between October 2017 & January 2018 with at least 30 working days in UNICEF Office in Beirut, Lebanon.

    1) Annual Reports

  • Consolidate, Review and Edit the 1st phase COAR components of the Annual Report: By 15 December 2016
  • Consolidate, Review and Edit the 2nd phase COAR components of the Annual Report for: By 31 December 2017
  • Develop final version of all COAR components: By 15 January 2018.
  • 2) Situation Analysis

  • Consolidate, Review and Edit the programme section and line ministry comments on the Situation Analysisby 20 October 2017
  • Develop final version of all Situation Analysis components: by 30 October 2017
  • Qualifications of Successful Candidate

    Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in social sciences or relevant disciplines
  • Years of relevant experience

  • At least 5 years of experience in professional editing in English with prior experience in writing and editing in humanitarian contexts.
  • Competencies of Successful Candidate

  • Excellent English proficiency in writing and editing skills following UN standards and styles of writing.
  • Ability to understand and interpret data (e.g. survey tabulations)
  • A good background knowledge of UNICEF’s mandate, mission and programmes an asset.
  • Previous experience of editing of the Lebanon context is an asset.
