Under the supervision of the field coordinator, you will be responsible to supervise medical activities in nutritioncentersto improve the care of beneficiaries in charge in the StabilizationCentersand in the Out Therapeutic Patient. You will participate in the capacity building of the ACF and MoH team, especially the medical side.
More precisely, you will be responsible to:
Mission 1: Participate in the development and supervision of the activities in the framework of nutrition program, with a specific focus on the medical elements.
* Manage medical aspects of the program for the Nutrition & Health Program Managers
* Manage and Promote high quality care for beneficiaries of the nutrition centers
* Follow up vaccination coverage/activities for ACF beneficiaries in collaboration with the MoH
* Participate in data analysis with the Nutrition & Health Program Managers
Missions 2: Manage the medical team(Doctor, Head of Nurse and Nurse)(Functional link)
* In charge of managing the medical team and set a clear and efficient organization within the medical department
* Lead the recruitment of staff in collaboration with Nutrition PMs, HR department and Field Coordinator
* In charge of developing individual action plans for the medical staffs who are under his/her direct supervision Lead the appraisal process of medical staffs who are under his/her direct supervisor and contribute to others’. Participate in the technical portion of staff appraisals
* In charge of regularly coordinating actions and sharing information with the Nutrition and Health Program Managers onto both medical and nutrition aspects.
Mission 3: Capacity building of the medical team
* Lead the identification of teams' training needs on the basis of assessments and direct observation
* Prepare/Review the medical team training package and conduct periodic trainings for medical staff as needed
* Prepare documents and briefs to guide treatment of medical complications in OTP/SC
* Train the national medical doctor(s) on management of acute malnutrition
* Train the medical team in order to reinforce its ability to manage acute malnutrition
* Train the medical team on monitoring and reporting indicators
* Supervision of medical activities and on the job training for medical staff in OTP/SC
Mission 4: Participate at the external coordination and representation activities
* In charge of liaising with the TMOs/ hospital medical doctors with regards to ACF beneficiaries transferred for medical care
* Participate to liaison meetings with Township Medical Officers (TMO) and other MoH staff. Meet with the TMO or other MOH staff on her/his own whenever matters are only related to medical aspects of the program.
* Participate to trainings for MoH staff and potentially staff of other NGOs on treatment of the severe acute malnutrition
* Organize trainings for MoH staff on treatment of medical complications pertaining to the CMAM nutrition protocol
Mission 5: Participate in internal coordination
* Contribute to monthly Activity Progress Report (APR) and donor reports on medical aspects of the program
* Participate in proposal writing: development of needs analysis and solutions-oriented strategies, and provision of relevant inputs with a view to developing shared and integrated approaches
* Prepare reports on Morbidity and Mortality for the program and for the MoH as necessary
The Applicant:
You hold a Nurse, Nutritionist or Public Health Nutritionist degree, with a first experienced in nutritionist position and at least one proven CMAM project management experience.
You have demonstrated strong knowledge of the project cycle management and good reporting skills. You have a proven experience in monitoring, data collection and analysis, especially in nutrition survey.
A first experience with ACF will be a plus.
Written and spoken professional English compulsory.
