Oxfam is an international confederation of 20 organizations working with partners and local communities in more than 90 countries to save lives, alleviate suffering, and reduce poverty. Oxfam has responded to the crisis in Syria by assisting more than two million people, including people in Syria as well as refugees in Lebanon and Jordan and the communities hosting them.
Oxfam is seeking a Policy and Advocacy Adviser, Syria Crises Response, to join its Syria Crisis response team, to be based in Amman or (if you already have the right to live there) Beirut. In this exciting and challenging role, you can make a difference to the lives of millions of vulnerable people. Applicants for this role should have excellent interpersonal, team-working, and communication skills in English (Arabic is highly desirable). You will also have a sound knowledge of the political and development context in the Middle East, and an understanding of international politics especially in relation to the Syria crisis. Applicants should have experience of conducting advocacy, policy development, or networking and alliance building with other organisations, preferably in the Middle East or in relation to a humanitarian or conflict setting.
