Volunteer Title: Syria Volunteer Directorate: Middle East and North Africa Regional Office Programme: Beirut Regional Office Duration: 3 -6 months Hours/Days per week: 3 to 5 days per week.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The successful volunteer would be expected to ensure the team is up to date with major developments in the region/country and assist in the production of research materials. This will include updating research memos with the guidance of the RCCA, monitoring and gathering information related to human rights situations and violations, and assisting in online research in both Arabic and English (particularly in Human Rights violations.) You will also assist in the production of campaigning materials and will transcribe interviews and assist with social media posts.
You will manage information and update the filing system, including the computerized database and will update the contact lists; helping to identify new contacts and to take minutes of meetings for the team. You will handle upcoming and outgoing calls, and emails that concern the Syria team and will greet and meet visitors who have Human Rights cases, related to Syria team; taking notes and following up.
ABOUT YOU
You will require a good understanding of human rights in Syria and fluency in written and spoken English and Arabic. You will be enthusiastic and lively as well as a keen team player. You will be comfortable with deadlines and have strong lines of communication.

Volunteering is unpaid, although travel and lunch expenses are provided. We are able to offer only very limited advice in terms of finding accommodation and Volunteers are responsible for arranging their own visa/work permit where required.
