Burundi: Rutumo Agribusiness Incubation Centre Trainer - Burundi

Under the supervision of the ABIN Programme Coordinator, the Rutumo Agribusiness Incubation Centre Trainer’s principal role will to develop modules and to facilitate trainings. They will also be tasked to contribute to the continued improvement of capacity building for the entrepreneurs.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

The responsibilities and tasks include, but are not limited to:

  • Work as an assistant to the Rutumo Agribusiness Incubation Centre Manager
  • Identify entrepreneurs and their training needs
  • Develop modules for the training centre
  • Facilitate training for entrepreneurs
  • Assist Centre Manager in creating a sustainability plan for centre activities and SMEs launched by entrepreneurs
  • Prepare training reports
  • Other programme related ad-hoc tasks and duties assigned by the Centre Manager

Requirements and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in agronomy, agro-technology or other similar disciplines
  • Previous working experience of at least 3 years in the development sector, fishing, agribusiness or nutrition. Working experience with international NGOs will be considered as added value.
  • Experience managing cooperatives and incubation centres is an advantage
  • A driving license
  • Ability to work in a team in a multi-discipline environment
  • Good communication and social skills and the ability to work in a multicultural setting;
  • Organisational skills and the ability to work independently;
  • Working experience with non-governmental organizations, volunteer or community-based programs
  • Computer skills and knowledge in use of Excel, PowerPoint and the internet
  • Good written and oral skills in Kirundi, Kiswahili and French are required
