We are looking for a volunteer to join the Lebanon Team in Beirut for a minimum of 2 days per week for 3 months.
The successful volunteer would be expected to carry out the following tasks:
1 Ensure the team is up to date with major developments in the region/country 2 Assist in the production of research materials:
1 Assist in online research in Arabic and English on particular Human Rights violations 2 Update Research Memos with the guidance of the RCCA 3 Monitor and gather information related to human rights situation and violations
1 Assist in the production of campaigning materials:
1 Assist with social media posts 2 Transcribe interviews
1 Manage information and update the filing system, including the computerized database
1 Update the contact lists 2 Help identify new contacts 3 Take minutes of meeting for the team. 4 Handle upcoming and outgoing calls, emails that concern the Syria team; 5 Greet and meet visitors who have Human Rights cases, related to Syria team; take notes and do the follow up.
1 Manage cases and respond to their requests
We would expect the successful volunteer to have the following skills and experience:
1 Good understanding of human rights in Lebanon 2 Fluency in written and spoken English and Arabic. 3 Enthusiastic and lively team member 4 Comfortable with deadlines and strong lines of communication
Volunteering in one of the world's leading human rights organisations can provide valuable experience and following your successful volunteer placement, you may request to receive references. However, please note that volunteering does not lead directly to employment with Amnesty International.
Volunteering is unpaid, although travel and lunch expenses are provided. We are able to offer only very limited advice in terms of finding accommodation and Volunteers are responsible for arranging their own visa/work permit where required.
