Department Overview

The Pact Myanmar Office helps realize this objective by managing a diverse portfolio of international cooperation projects in areas including renewable energy; health system strengthening; economic development; and civil society strengthening.

Position Purpose
Pact seeks to recruit a Program Specialist (Writer/Editor) whose knowledge of the project cycle and talent for writing can support the Pact Myanmar office in drafting high-quality deliverables for its diverse development portfolio. He/She will report to the Programs Director and acts as key point of contact in the management of reporting including reporting to USAID and non-USG funded projects. S/he will work in the communications team, together with the Communications & Public Outreach Coordinator.

Key Responsibilities

  • Write or copy-edit several types of reports, including but not limited to: quarterly, semi-annual, annual, and final reports for USAID and non-USG projects managed out of the Pact Myanmar office in Yangon. Content is delivered by programs team. compilation, editing and formatting will be done by the report writer.
  • Contribute to proposals responding to USG and non-USG opportunities.
  • Contribute to communications products for specific projects (i.e. project profiles, 2-pagers, success stories) and for Pact Myanmar in general.
  • Contribute to general communications products.
  • Ensure that the reporting process aligns with donor requirements and schedules.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting.
  • Ensure that reports are supplemented by photographs, graphics and info-graphics or other visual material which will increase its interest and accessibility.**Basic Requirements**

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 4 years’ experience in a related field including grant writing; communications; journalism, etc.

  • Ability to work independently and coordinate with team members located in various locations.

  • Superior writing and copy-editing skills; demonstrated experience with formatting and design.

  • Experience writing reports for USAID and other international cooperation bodies.

  • Native English speaker and writer

  • Ability to work in Myanmar.**Preferred Qualifications**

  • Experience living and working in Myanmar

  • Working knowledge of Burmese
