NRC Lebanon is looking to recruit an experienced Education Programme Advisor
The Education Advisor role is to strengthen the Education Programme in Lebanon through working together with the Education Specialist to provide technical support and capacity, building towards project staff and NRC local partners. The position is based in Beirut and involves extensive travel in the country.
Our ideal candidate is:
A senior candidate with more than 4 years of experience in working in an Education Project Management/Specialist position in a humanitarian/recovery context*.* Proven expertise in Project Cycle Management and Grants Management is a requirement. Strong English skills (both written and oral) are essential. NRC experience is an asset.
We are particularly looking for an analytic individual with strong communication skills, who can confidently navigate at different levels both internally and externally. In this position, you will join highly motivated and expert staff who are making a difference to the most vulnerable people in the world's biggest displacement crisis.
Job Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Conduct quality control and provide support to Project Managers (PMs) for harmonised and consistent use of NRC’s project management tools throughout the project cycle phases
- Ensure compliance with NRC policies CC tools, handbooks and guidelines
- Responsible for supporting follow up compliance with grants commitments and for providing recommendations to Area Managers, PMs and Coordinators to achieve project targets and indicators
- Contribute to the development of NRC’s education strategy for Lebanon and regional education initiatives.
- Monitor the implementation of projects and support the Education Specialist and PMs to ensure that projects target beneficiaries most in need, and explore and assess innovative ways to provide Education activities
- Support the Education Specialist in the development and follow up of the Education programme, technical SOPs/guidelines in line with NRC Programme Policy and national and international standards, and in coordination with other Core Competences
- Gap filling for PMs and Education Specialist as needs arise
- Coordinate and support drafting of proposals, budgets and donors reports
- Design, and support implementation of, needs assessments
- Responsible for mapping and assessing civil society organisations in Lebanon as potential partners in the NRC education programme
Travel: 75%
Contract period: 12 months
Salary/benefits: According to NRC’s salary scale
