Objective of the Programme:
DAI is preparing for a DFID funded facility programme focusing on increasing the economic opportunities for poor people to uptake through enhancing and enabling the business environment they access. It will run for 5.5 years and is a part of DFID’s larger “Business for Shared Prosperity” Programme.
This opportunity is to part of a team working on a business enabling environment programme which aims to facilitate an economic transformation in Myanmar that underpins sustainable poverty reduction through the following components: regulatory and institutional environment, financial sector strengthening, infrastructure reform in financing and policy design, trade, inclusion and responsible business.
Sought-after Technical Skills:
- Capacity building for multi-level stakeholders and beneficiaries for “doing business” responsibly, inclusively and productively.
- Legal and regulatory reform in one or more of the above components.
- Value chain development and trade experts (Myanmar experience highly desirable)
- Knowledge of high impact investment mechanisms and networking capabilities to support enterprise development.
- Business development advisory services to both established and start-up enterprises.
- Knowledge around policy and market reform to promote a business enabling environment for enterprises and start-up companies.
- Inclusive growth experts in policy design and advocacy for women and vulnerable groups in business. Including Women’s Economic Empowerment (WEE) and working with Civil Society Organisations (CSOs).
- Experience donor funded programme Monitoring and Reporting
- Experience of private sector development and support to Government infrastructure including business practice, PPPs and pro-poor infrastructure development.
- Technical expertise in the areas of conflict, gender, youth and climate and environment
Overall requirements:
- At least 7 years of experience within the private sector development, enterprise development and/or investment advisory services in developing countries.
- Experience working with DFID, USAID and/or other large international donors is advantageous.
- Excellent English communication skills required.
- Working experience in Myanmar is desirable
Education:
Advanced Degree in Economics, Management, Finance or Business or other related field preferred
