Anti-Slavery International is seeking a consultant to conduct an end of project evaluation in Lebanon and Nepal. Funded by the Open Society Foundation - International Migration Initiative this project (2012-2016) aimed to address the migration continuum by promoting and protecting migrant domestic workers’ rights and empowering them as community leaders. In particular, the project’s main goals was to enable potential migrant domestic workers in Nepal to make informed decisions and to support Nepalese domestic workers migrating to Lebanon to protect themselves from exploitation and abuse; assert their rights; and ensure that the governments in both countries are responsive to their needs.
The consultant should have extensive project evaluation experience, ideally in the human rights sector, gender expertise and knowledge of labour migration issues, possibly related to migrant domestic work in Nepal and /or Lebanon, and be fluent in English. The evaluation will take approximately six weeks and will require travel in Lebanon and Nepal for approximately half of this time as well as desk research and liaison/discussion with Anti-Slavery International in London. The consultant/s should be available as soon as possible, with field work to be conducted end of May/early June, and the report finalised in July.
