Jordan: Information Management System - Feasibility Study

We are looking for an experienced Consultant to conduct a IMS feasibility study for our offices in the MENA region.

Who are we?

The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is a private, independent, humanitarian organization working on all aspects of the refugee cause in more than thirty countries throughout the world. The aim of DRC is to protect refugees and internally displaced persons (IDPs) against persecution and to promote durable solutions to the problems of forced migration on the basis of humanitarian principles and human rights.

DRC has been operating in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region for over a decade, running a combination of emergency, protection, livelihoods and shelter programmes through Country Offices in Libya/Tunisia, Jordan, Syria, Iraq, Lebanon, Turkey with the support of the Regional Office in Amman. DRC has 17 offices and approximately one thousand staff members across the MENA region.

About the job

The objective of the consultancy is to assess the feasibility of developing an information management system shared between the DRC MENA countries of operation.

Duties and Responsibilities

Based on the enclosed TOR a final work plan needs to be developed by the consultant, also outlining the location of the work. It is foreseen that the consultant will need to travel to Jordan, Iraq, Turkey, Lebanon, Tunisia and Syria.

The following time-frame serves as reference, and will be adjusted by the consultant based on his/her workplan:

Phase 1: Desk Review and preparation (7 days)

Phase 2: Country field visits (max. 20 days)

Phase 3: Prepare and facilitate a regional IM technical workshop (3 days)

Phase 4: Report (10 days)

It is expected that the study should be completed by 31 July 2016.

About you

To be successful in this role you must have:

  • Extensive humanitarian experience, preferably within an INGO environment;
  • In depth knowledge and experience of data and information management systems used by NGOs and/or international organizations and/or the private sector;
  • Ability to facilitate workshops and make presentation to senior managers,
  • Capacity to write clear and concise report,
  • Strong coordination and communication skills
