DURATION: 12 months fixed term contract, unaccompanied

British Red Cross (BRC) is recruiting a Cash Based Programming (CBP) Delegate to join our small team in Beirut. The CBP Delegate will be responsible for providing high quality CBP technical advice and support to a dedicated and evolving national society at the front-line of one of world's worst humanitarian situations. It is an exciting opportunity to be a core part of ensuring that LRC's long-term development strategy to provide better overall delivery to beneficiaries is achieved.

The British Red Cross has been present in Lebanon and partnering with the Lebanese Red Cross (LRC) for many years, increasing its support following the onset of the Syria Crisis. BRC began providing technical advice, support and capacity building on cash-based assistance to LRC from late 2013, when a cash feasibility assessment was conducted. The CBP Delegate position is housed in the headquarters of the Lebanese Red Cross and will work closely with their Disaster Management Unit, which also receives support from a range of other partners.

The successful candidate will have:

very strong technical skills in cash based programming
excellent partnership-work capabilities, covering capacity-building, mentoring and diplomatic communication
practical programme cycle management skills
excellent team working skills

We are a volunteer-led humanitarian organisation that helps people in crisis, whoever and wherever they are. We enable vulnerable people at home and overseas to prepare for and respond to emergencies in their own communities. And when the crisis is over, we help people recover and move on with their lives.

The closing date for applications is 5 June 2016.

First round interviews will take place 13 and 14 June. Second round interviews will be held in London or Beirut.

Refusing to ignore people in crisis

The British Red Cross is proud to have a diverse and neutral workforce. We are bound by seven fundamental principles including humanity, impartiality, neutrality and independence and we are committed to welcoming people from the widest possible diversity of background, culture and experience.

As part of its recruitment and selection process the British Red Cross undertakes DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) checking of all individuals who regularly work with or have access to children and vulnerable adults.

The British Red Cross, incorporated by Royal Charter 1908, is a charity registered in England and Wales (220949) and Scotland (SC037738).
