Organization: Linnaeus University
Country: Myanmar
Closing date: 20 Feb 2017

Come and work with Fojo Media Institute on an exciting new project to develop journalism training institutions in Southeast Asia!

We have just started a regional project funded by the Government of Sweden to strengthen the capacity of mid-career journalism training institutions in Southeast Asia.
Over the next three years we will work with initially six partners in Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam to strengthen institutional capacity including the ability to manage the training institutions effectively and efficiently. The project will, through peer-to-peer sharing and learning, enable partners among other to develop relevant course content, master new media, and carry out training needs analyses.

We are now recruiting part-time National Coordinator staff to be based in the four countries and a part-time Project Coordinator position to be based at Bangkok in Thailand.

We are looking for recruits who can demonstrate both a theoretical appreciation of media and/or journalism and some experience working with a media organization as a journalist or researcher.

You will also need to show us that you are organized, efficient and can carry out relevant administrative tasks like coordinating travel or facilitating workshops.

For the National Coordinator positions you need to be fluent in the local language and have a good command of written and spoken English.

Fojo Media Institute has been working to develop the profession of journalism in Sweden and around the world for 45 years. Our approach has always been collaborative and partner driven. We recognize that our partners must be allowed to develop sustainable journalism institutes that are relevant and appropriate to their contexts.

How to apply:

If you are interested in these roles, you are strongly encouraged to contact the Project Manager, Jaldeep Katwala to arrange an informal discussion.

You can send an expression of interest of no more than 750 words explaining why you are interested in the roles together with your resume to the email address jaldeep.katwala@lnu.se
