Tetra Tech https://careers.tetratechintdev.com, is seeking a qualified Deputy Regional Program Manager on a USAID-funded activity called Community Strengthening Project in Burma. This activity aims to assist communities in areas affected by or prone to conflict to improve access to essential services, recover from conflict, improve their resilience to future shocks, and empower them to more fully participate in Myanmar’s democratic transition and national reconciliation processes.
Position Description:
The Deputy Regional Program Manager will be based in either Rakhine State, Kachin State or norther Shan State, and will assist the Regional Program Manager to supervise field office staff and help with managing the project’s operations, financial and administrative, and activity management systems in the field to ensure compliance with the Contractor and USAID requirements. The Deputy will assist in the overall regional program strategy, including helping with financial and administrative management as well as activity development and implementation. This person will also be a key liaison with the local community and a focal point on understanding local contexts.
Responsibilities:
· Oversee the establishment of the local office and identify staffing and administrative needs.
· Assist in the design and implementation of program activities aimed at ameliorating conflict, rehabilitating human and physical infrastructure, and supporting the development of civil society.
· Assist in monitoring and evaluation of project sponsored activities.
· Perform other duties as determined by the Regional Program Manager.
· Perform other tasks as requested by the Chief of Party, Deputy Chief of Party, and Program Manager.
Qualifications:
· Degree in international development, political science, public administration, or related field. Academic background in post conflict studies preferred.
· At least 5 years of experience working with donor funded projects in Myanmar.
· Experience in community mobilization and development activities.
· Experience building the capacity of local civil society organizations (CSOs).
· Spoken and written fluency in English.
