Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the direct supervision of Programme Assistant and the overall supervision of Head of Sub-Office in Kalay, Monitoring Assistant will be responsible for the following duties:-
• Assist in Planning, organizing, implementing and monitoring of WFP food distributions including data collection in the project area;
• Provide necessary basic information for the facilities of food distribution process of the project;
• Coordinate and monitor the implementation of the assistance programme at the field level, in close collaboration with the communities and cooperating partners; collect and collate monitoring data, and assist in the reporting and database functions;
• Monitor and review the overall commodity movements such as food deliveries, storage, transport and distribution at the site and verify if the amounts received have been properly recorded, damaged or suspected to be damaged;
• Assist in the implementation of the plan of action, review achievement and constraints and provide feedback accordingly;
• Assist in the information management process in support of the implementation of the programme;
• Liaise with cooperating partners and local authorities in the promotion of WFP activities in the project areas;
• Perform as a member of office committees, such as Bid Opening committee, Market Assessment Committee etc;
• Assess FFA/CFA and relief activities and provide technical input to the partners and food/cash management committees in needs assessment, formulation and implementation of projects.
• Assist in the conduct of regular meetings of food security sector and assist implementing partners on the commodity pipeline, distribution arrangements, food entitlements and other relevant issues in respective area;
• Perform any other appropriate duties as requested by the supervisors.
Qualification
Education:
Minimum Secondary school education, supplemented with experience or additional education in education, social services, nutrition, agriculture or other related field.
Desired Experience for Entry into the Role
Has experience analyzing programme output and outcome data. General knowledge of WFP Monitoring and Evaluating system and standards.
Knowledge:
Experience utilizing computers including word processing, spreadsheet and other software packages.
Language:
Fluency in both oral and written communication in English and Myanmar. The ability to communicate in local language is an asset.
Expected Results:
Organized and precise records; well analyzed data with minimum supervision.
