Who are we?
The Lebanon Humanitarian INGO Forum (LHIF) is an independent forum of international NGOs who are working to address the needs of vulnerable individuals, families and communities throughout Lebanon. LHIF provides a platform for members to advocate for and address key issues of common interest, more effectively engage in response coordination and leadership mechanisms, and help ensure humanitarian space is maintained, with the aim of achieving a protective environment that better identifies and responds to the full spectrum of needs and the rights of the most vulnerable persons affected by the crisis in Lebanon. LHIF was founded in October 2012, established a full-time Secretariat in October 2013, and currently has 32 members. LHIF is administratively hosted by the Danish Refugee Council and funded by ECHO. Duties
Since 2014, LHIF has undertaken a full-day Strategic Planning Workshop with all members on an annual basis. The previous two workshops have clarified LHIF’s purpose, established LHIF’s vision, and consolidated its longer-term Strategic Directions. The 2016 workshop will seek to re-validate the Strategic Directions and have a structured discussion around LHIF’s role and position within the evolving landscape of humanitarian, stabilization and development work in Lebanon.LHIF is seeking an experienced facilitator to guide this discussion towards clear outcomes/decisions.

Timeframe: 3 days (1 day preparation, 1 day facilitation, 1 day to compile report)
Deliverables:
• Facilitation of 1-day workshop in Beirut
• Summary report on workshop outcomes
Qualifications:
• 3-5 years of experience in facilitation using participatory approaches
• Previous experience with strategic planning and “big picture” strategy development with/for international NGOs
• Direct experience with and understanding of NGO coordination mechanisms an asset
• Strong understanding of the international humanitarian coordination system, including the IASC international humanitarian architecture/cluster system, humanitarian reform and the transformative agenda, as well as UNHCR refugee coordination and the High Commissioner’s Structured Dialogue, preferred
We offer
An interesting consultancy job in one of the best NGO’s in the world. DRC will offer the successful applicant a 3 days contract, renewable dependent on both funding and performance. You must be available to start work from March 2016 and be willing and able to work in Beirut.
Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Consultancy for Expatriates and Nationals; please refer to www.drc.ngo under Vacancies. Daily Rate for this position is 300 USD.
