The Organization
Search for Common Ground (SFCG) is a non-governmental organization working to transform the way societies deal with conflicts. We have acquired over 30 years of experience in peacebuilding and are based in 53 local offices worldwide. SFCG first worked in Lebanon in 1996, and we opened up our office here in 2008. The issues we address are multiple, such as conflicts arising within Lebanon's diverse society, tensions resulting from the increasing influx of Syrian refugees, security sector reform, as well as women’s socio-economic empowerment. In each project we seek to engage all stakeholders and strengthen local capacities in order to create sustainable change and increase social cohesion.
Summary of Position
The DM&E coordinator will be responsible to oversee all monitoring and evaluation of an 18-month project whose goal is to strengthen community resilience and cohesion among Syrian refugee youth and host community youth in Lebanon, Iraq and Turkey.
The DM&E Coordinator will work closely with the project team and under the supervision and guidance of SFCG Lebanon DM&E manager to develop and implement all tools, strategies and systems throughout the project for the whole consortium and across the 3 countries, including creating and updating monitoring tools and systems, providing support to coordinators and co-applicants in DM&E, and ensuring evaluation of project activities.
Responsibilities
- Review and ensure common understanding among consortium partners of the project logic framework, indicators, targets, data collection tools, M&E plan.
- Provide timely, quality support and guidance to the team to meet the project’s specific DM&E needs.
- Contribute to identify and synthesize good practices and lessons learned.
- Guide and supervise the implementation of the monitoring and evaluation plan through regular coordination with projects team in the three countries during the different phases of the implementation: Initial research assessment, on-going monitoring, mid-term reflection and final evaluation.
- Maintain a database to ensure all project’s outputs and results are accurately recorded and coordinated to inform project staff.
- Assist the team in providing timely internal and external reports.
- Meet regularly with project’s staff to review progress of project against project objectives, indicators and deliverables, and give meaningful input and recommendations into the project management and institutional learning;
- Participate in and contribute towards internal evaluation processes;
- Be directly engaged in the continuing development of the organization, its mission and its staff, through the sharing of experience and knowledge;

Requirements and Qualifications
- Lebanese citizen.
- Master’s degree in Development, Political Science, International Affairs, Social Sciences or other relevant subject.
- Proven DM&E skills, preferably within the framework of EU interventions.
- At least 3 years of experience working in conflict sensitive environments.
- At least 5 years of general professional experience in sectors relevant to the project.
- Proven track record of experience in managing M&E of large scale programmes involving several partners in conflict sensitive and political complex countries.
- Previous training experience in M&E and dialogue facilitation is a strong advantage.
- Proven knowledge of the social and political landscape in the project’s implementation countries (Lebanon, Iraq and Turkey).
- Experience working in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
- Proven knowledge in the Syrian crisis and its impact inside Syria and in host countries.
- A high degree of competence in providing meaningful guidance and reflection on projects implementation.

- Excellent interpersonal and networking skills
