PURPOSE OF POSITION

Working under the direct supervision of the Area Manager provide project implementation support, coordinate the implementation of project activities and management of Psychological Support field staff to ensure project deliverables are met as per the proposal.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Under guidance from the Area Manager and the technical Specialist, support the planning and coordinate the implementation of the Child Protection Project activities, ensuring deliverables and targets are met.

  • Ensure procurement requests are presented on a timely basis to facilitate timely implementation of field activities, and adhering to both WVI and donor requirements in meeting the project objectives.

  • Interacting regularly with Area Manager and NO Child Protection sector specialist to seek technical guidance and expertise regarding project related issues.

  • Responsible to identify convenient locations for undertaking psychosocial support and any other field activities in Beirut.

  • Assist in recruiting field staff and temporary staff and provide the needed technical support to them in the preparation during the implementation of the project activities.

  • Monitor the implementation and progress of the project(s) according to approved stated objectives, plan of action, budget and record progress by working closely with the Design, Monitoring, and Evaluation unit and the project manager.

  • Participate in periodic evaluations of the impact of the project on the beneficiaries with support from the DME unit.

  • Ensure that minimum standards of the child friendly are considered.

  • Identify key protection threats affecting the child friendly spaces.

  • Engage partner communities and build constructive relationships in order to understand their realities and facilitate the project’s implementation processes effectively

  • Prepare and organize community based activities including workshops, trainings, and other events in coordination with relevant stakeholders and WVL subject-matter experts

  • Provide leadership and coaching to the direct reports, including the Caregivers for enhanced service delivery.

  • Management of the performance of direct reports with continuous feedback to ensure proper performance management.

  • Develop teamwork among the project staff, ensuring a conducive working atmosphere is created and opportunities provided to share lessons learned, experiences, observations and challenges to inform project management.

  • Together with the Area Manager, plan and provide opportunities for capacity building to project team in consultation with P&C Department to ensure coordinated technical and personal development.

  • Ensure compliance with World Vision’s policies

Security management responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the security of project staff, ensuring that staff abides by WVL security procedures and policies. Report any security breaches as necessary.

  • Participate in personal safety training as required

  • Undertake any other duties as shall be delegated by the supervisor.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Bachelor Degree in Social Studies, Development Studies or related field.

  • Deep Knowledge and high skills in Child Protection and Psychological Support.

  • Excellent written and spoken English. Knowledge or Arabic language is an added advantage.

  • Good Communication and interpersonal skills with ability to network and negotiate with partners and government bodies.

  • Strong community engagement and capacity building skills

  • Ability to work in and contribute to team building environment

  • Good analytical and organizational skills

  • Knowledge of the Protection strategy in Lebanon with special emphasis on the Government of Lebanon Protection strategy for the Syrian Refugees

  • At least 3 year experience in an INGO and in working in a similar project in a response context.
